Justin Averitt

Vice President, Managing Director

With over 15 years of experience, Justin Averitt’s intersection of technical and business expertise make him a great fit to lead the operations of Gemini. Prior to joining Tetra Tech, Justin has worked as Fleet Manager for wind turbine operations, Director of Operations for a nonprofit organization and consultant for startups providing strategic advancement and execution. Justin is a graduate of University of Denver’s Daniel School of Business with a Master of Business Administration degree. He also obtained his B.Sc. in Business Operations and Management from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Matt Campbell

Director of Operations

Matt Campbell brings military and technician training to excel as Director of Operations at Gemini Energy Services. Before joining Gemini, Matt enlisted in the Navy’s nuclear propulsion training program as an electrician on the USS Alaska, a ballistic missile submarine. He completed deterrent patrols, a change of homeport and a complete reactor refueling. In 2012, Matt joined Gemini as a field service technician specializing in photovoltaic inverters and transitioned into wind energy. With an extensive industrial background, Matt currently coordinates between customers and technicians to ensure quality wind energy projects are completed.

Natalie Mazzotta

Project Director

Natalie is the primary point of contact to request services from Gemini’s technical support team. For projects large and small, she blends the appropriate skill sets, industry best practices, emerging trends and technology for quality service. As a member of WRISE and AWEA, she promotes collaborative engagement to boost women’s participation and professional development within the renewable market sector. With an M.A. in Education from NYU, she is a lifelong learner and educator, pushing the boundaries of the renewable energy acumen.

Travis Olsen

EHS Manager

Travis brings a decade of technical & safety experience to the Gemini team. Before entering the renewables industry, Travis served as an Electronics Technician in the Coast Guard – stationed both onshore and afloat supporting domestic homeland security missions & international fisheries patrols. After leaving service, Travis specialized in GE 1.5 ESS turbines while working as a wind technician in Nebraska. Travis then moved into a Regional Safety position, where he supported a fleet of solar and wind O&M technicians across seventeen facilities. Travis is currently the EHS Manager for Gemini Energy Services, focusing on human performance improvement and safety culture initiatives.

Sarah Hackenberg

Customer Manager

Sarah is our Customer Manager, a balanced role between Resource Manager and Account Manager. She communicates daily both with the customer and our technicians – ensuring that all site movements, campaign changes and issues in the field are addressed immediately. In Sarah’s free time, she is pursuing her B.S. in Natural Resources with an emphasis on Policy & Management from Oregon State. She has a background as a wind technician and as a certified electronics technician in telecommunications, RADAR and fiber-optics. Like many of our employees, she is also a proud military veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.

Chris Gagnon

Director of Business Development O&M

Chris Gagnon joins the Gemini Energy Services team as our Director of Business Development for O&M Services in the wind and solar sector. He has 11+ years of experience in the renewable energy field, including five years as an elevator traveling technician throughout the USA, Canada, and Europe. During his on-site experiences, Chris started to identify the bigger goals at site and the long-term planning for the optimal performance of assets. He transitioned from being a traveling technician to sales where he spent the past 5 ½ years owning and operating his own company in the wind/construction sector. He has a true passion for all forms of renewable energy. Chris is a proud military veteran who served in the United States Air Force.

Tory Stephens

Project Accountant

Tory Stephens brings over 15 years of accounting and financial services expertise to the project accounting role at Gemini Energy Services. She previously served as a Finance Manager for a social enterprise focused on resource conservation and for an organization managing water quality initiatives through public/private partnerships and direct investments. She has a range of financial experience in the private and non-profit sector. Tory is a graduate of Colorado State University’s Master of Business Administration program with a certificate in Applied Finance.

Alan Tennery

Director of Engineering, Wind Operations & Maintenance

Alan comes to Tetra Tech with nearly 20 years of engineering experience across commercial aerospace, environmental science and renewable energy industries, where he has worked in startups, non-profits and large corporations. A creative thinker and problem-solver, Alan has led systems engineering for a continental scale environmental observatory measuring climate data, managed test programs validating design and performance characteristics of wind turbines, and overseen flight control and landing gear maintenance and reliability modification projects for commercial aerospace. Alan obtained his B.Sc. degree in Engineering from California State University – Sacramento.

Sandee Vargas

Office Manager

Sandee, born and raised in Sunny San Diego, has been the Office Manager at Gemini since 2016. She has over 5 years of experience in administration. She is responsible for all the day-to-day operations in the Gemini headquarters. This includes managing accounts payable, coordination for new hires, tracking project expenses and general back-office support for our technicians. Sandee is an excellent point of contact to connect outside inquiries with the appropriate members of the Gemini team.

Chris Lundquist

Project Manager

Chris joins the Gemini team from one of Tetra Tech’s engineering design offices in Denver, Colorado. He has over 13 years of progressive experience with a variety of power generation projects including combined cycle/simple cycle natural gas, bio-fuel, wind, solar and supercritical coal power plants. He has an extensive background in utility scale engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects including the successful completion of several industry recognized turnkey EPC projects, some with a project value of over $1 billion. Chris obtained his B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado and is a licensed professional engineer in 8 states.

Lourdes Pasillas

Administrative Coordinator

Lourdes Pasillas is native to San Diego and a strong addition to the Gemini team. Concentrating on company growth, Lourdes plans and attends marketing events, supporting clients and promoting technician recruitment. Dedicated to the internal workflows within Gemini, she aligns work in the field with company requirements. She is dedicated to the wellbeing of field technicians to ensure they have uninterrupted office support and resources. Lourdes holds a B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University.

Michael English

Resource Manager

Michael English holds the position of Resource Manager at Gemini Energy Services. Mike joined Gemini in 2012 as a field service technician after a 22-year career in the US Navy as an Electronic Technician. While in the Navy he deployed on multiple occasions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom with Naval Special Warfare Mobile Communications Team, Naval Special Warfare Special Boat Unit, USS Ronald Regan and USS New Orleans. Since joining Gemini Mike has worked on projects to include Solar, O&M Support, Retrofits, Design Modification and Commissioning. In his current role as Resource Manager role Mike oversees multiple projects and manages over 20 technicians.

Resource Manager

Justin brings more than a decade of experience in the renewables space to the Gemini team, having worked in remote operations and technical asset management on both the customer and ISP fronts. This unique blend of perspectives enhances Gemini’s reputation of providing high-quality focused service to its current and potential customers. Justin has managed projects of all ages and sizes, nearly all technology platforms, across North America. Regulatory compliance, contract management, performance analysis and optimization, customer service and contract negotiation are just a few of Justin’s strong points.
